Creating a background with small images.

Hi everyone! This is Deepti here and I'm here with a card with fun background. I love creating backgrounds with tiny little stamps, not only it adds such a fun touch but also it creates or gives a new look to your cards. So for this card I used Fiskars Build a tree stamp set and was thinking what and how to make a card since there were only cute little images. So I took the all small images that caught my eye and stamped randomly with Archival Jet Black Ink. Then I colored the images with Spun Sugar and Brushed Coruduroy  distress markers and water-colored the images in a very fun way. I'm loving this color combo - pink and brown - lately! Finally stamped the sentiment from Wplus9- Sending Sunshine Stamp set.

I hope you like this card and give the small images some love!
Thanks for stopping by.. Have a great day.. :)

One Layer Card With a Popped Up Sentiment

Hello crafty friends! This is Deepti and how are you all doing? Me, I was busy cleaning and organizing my craft area. It was really a mess, I cleaned my table and other stuff but there are lots of things to be done and organized! If you are my regular follower here, at my blog and other social media sites then you would have definitely known that I'm a very big fan of creating 'single layer cards'. I don't know why, but I LOVE making them! ;) So today's card is also one of them, almost a single layer.. And I have a tiny tutorial for you with a tiny technique! So stay with me!

So this was the technique I was talking about - Popped Up Sentiment! Let's get started.. :)

I stamped the sentiment from Fiskars on to some Neenah Solar White Card Stock with Archival Jet Black Ink.

I then stamped one of the whimsical butterflies from the set with Picked Raspberry Distress Ink. And also stamped the same butterfly on to some scratch paper because I'll be fussy cutting the butterfly.

I then  placed an acetate on to the stamped images - placed the fussy cut butterfly on to the acetate - then stamped the sentiment again on to the butterfly.

This is just for your reference - you can see the stamped sentiment on fussy cut butterfly, on the main card base and also on acetate.. Hope you are not getting confused! ;)

And that's it. I adhered the butterfly on to the pre-stamped image with foam tape. Look how the sentiment got popped!!

I hope you like this card and I hope you would give this technique a try.
Happy Paper Crafting!! ;)

Photo Tutorial - Emboss Resist Technique with Water Colors

Hi everyone! This is Deepti Stephens here sharing a card with Heat Emboss Resist Technique with Watercolors! The stampset I used today is from Avery Elle and I love this Ikat design.

What is Emboss Resist Technique?
Emboss images on light colored cardstock, then apply darker ink or watercolors to make them "pop".
The embossed images resist water or ink, it's gives a beautiful popped up images!

Look at that gorgeous shine and sparkle! You know - The watercolors I used today is Indian brand and I never thought that it would give such sparkle to my card.

I have a step by step tutorial for you..

I took a piece of cardstock and stamped the images from Avery Elle with Versamark Ink and Heat set it with White Embossing Powder.

Then I found this watercolor paints in my stash and I decided to use the gold and brown for my card. That brown turned out to a lovely peachy tone..

I applied a lot of water with a paint brush on to the heat embossed images.

I started adding the gold color slowly and then I moved on to the brown color and blended them with water. Look! how the images resist the watercolors!!

I let it dry for sometime and look how it turned out! Gorgeous isn't it ?

Finally I added some Clear Dust stickles and sequins here and there.

I hope you like this card. Thanks for stopping by. Have a great weekend!

A Card With Butterflies

Hi everyone! This is Deepti Stephens. How you guys doing? I'm suffering from cold and having a slight fever. But that's not at all a problem for me because I can lie on my bed and watch card making videos, can doodle a bit and can sleep well.. Sometimes illness is also good, just to relax and it also brings your mojo back! ;)

Well.. Okay! Today I'm sharing a card made with Fiskars Butterfly Magic Stampset.

I created the back ground by stamping with a tiny leaf stamp in Grey Ink. Then on to an other piece of cardstock I stamped the butterflies in Memento Inks - Bahama Blue, Danube Blue, Grape Jelly and Lilac Poises.

I purchased these Memento Inks a couple of years ago and trust me they are still juicy! ;)

Finally fussy cut everything and adhered on to the main card base.

And finally stamped the sentiment with Archival Jet Black Ink

I hope you like this card. Thank you so much for stopping by and leaving me a comment.

A Nautical Themed Card

Hi everyone! This is Deepti Stephens and I hope you are all doing well.. :) Today my card features the new Pearl Metallic Cardstock, Nautical Themed Wooden Embellishments and Double sided tape! You can do so much with the double sided tape but I went and experimented with the 'heat embossing'. Let's have a look!

I took Pearl Metallic Cardstock which comes in assorted colors and in A4 size. I cut it into half and made a A2 top folding card. These papers are really gorgeous and elegant so I do not want to waste any single piece of it.. ;) Next I took another piece, a small panel of Neenah Solar White Cardstock, I wanted to do 'heat embossing' at the bottom portion of the card!

So instead of using the Versamark Ink I used Double Sided Tape. I guess double sided tape + heat embossing = a BIG failure. I used Ranger Gold Embossing Powder. You can see all the messy and wrinkled embossing, I was quite disappointed, I'm not going to try this technique again with the double sided tape!

Once the embossing part was done I flicked some Mermaid Lagoon Distress Stain Spray on to the cardstock and I let it dry for some time. While it was drying, I stamped Enjoy the Journey Sentiment from Teresa Collins.

You can see the distressed embossed sentiment, that is because I didn't stamp well. But that's ok, I think it's quite fine! ;)

I assembled everything together! Look at that tiny cute little boat, LOVE it!! You can find the Nautical Wooden Buttons here.. ;)

And that's it.. I have a video too for you, you can watch it here or go to You Tube, click HD and enjoy!

And also I have a free sketch for you! You can download it if you are interested!

I hope you enjoyed watching the video and I hope you liked  my card too. If you have any questions please leave a comment below!

Thank you so much for stopping by. Take care and I'll see you next time!
